Lenskart has partnered with global collectibles giant POP MART to launch an exclusive eyewear collection in India, marking the brand’s first official collaboration in the country. The collection was unveiled at a launch event in Gurgaon on June 20, with actor Janhvi Kapoor fronting the campaign.

Best known as the company behind the viral Labubu phenomenon and the blind-box collectible trend that has gained massive popularity across Asia, POP MART has built a devoted global fanbase through its character-led storytelling and collectible culture. With this partnership, the brand is making its entry into India’s fashion accessories space through a collaboration with Lenskart.

Inspired by Sweet Bean’s popular “I Want A Hug” series, the limited-edition collection features 21 styles across eyeglasses and sunglasses. The designs incorporate elements from the Sweet Bean universe, including signature character artwork, playful star-and-heart motifs, custom branding, and collectible-inspired detailing.

The collaboration reflects a growing consumer trend where accessories are increasingly viewed as tools of self-expression rather than purely functional products. By combining eyewear with character-driven design, the collection aims to appeal to younger consumers who are drawn to fashion, fandom, and individuality.

The India launch follows the success of similar POP MART collaborations with Lenskart in Singapore and Thailand, highlighting the rising demand for character-led fashion across Asian markets.

Adding to the collectible appeal, customers purchasing compatible Lenskart Bitz frames will receive Sweet Bean-inspired magnetic Bitz charms packaged in surprise blind packets. Inspired by POP MART’s signature blind-box format, the charms can be attached to eyewear frames, allowing users to personalise their look while recreating the excitement associated with collectible toys.

The POP MART x Sweet Bean “I Want A Hug” collection is now available across more than 1,000 Lenskart stores nationwide as well as on the company’s online platform. Prices for the collection start at Rs 3,000.

Speaking on the launch, Peyush Bansal, Co-founder & CEO, Lenskart, said “POP MART is a global phenomenon that has defined the fashion trends of a generation. With this collaboration, we are officially bringing this cultural statement to India for the first time in history, and this partnership is only just the beginning.”
