Meta has introduced Muse Spark, a new artificial intelligence model developed under its revamped AI division, marking a significant step in the company’s effort to strengthen its position in the global AI race.
Built by Meta’s Superintelligence Labs and led by Alexandr Wang, Muse Spark is the first major model to emerge after the company reorganised its AI strategy. The model is designed to power Meta’s broader ecosystem, including its AI assistant across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
According to the company, Muse Spark is built to handle a range of tasks through different modes, from quick, everyday responses to more advanced reasoning for complex queries. It also incorporates a system of coordinated AI agents to improve performance and efficiency.
While Meta has not positioned the model as a breakthrough, it is being seen as a reset for the company’s AI ambitions after falling behind competitors in recent years. The launch reflects a broader push to build what Meta describes as “personal superintelligence” AI systems that can assist users more seamlessly across daily tasks.
