Actor and entrepreneur Parul Gulati, founder of premium hair extension brand Nish Hair, has alleged that her Bengaluru store suffered an internal fraud that caused losses of nearly Rs 24 lakh, after two former employees allegedly diverted customer payments into their personal bank accounts instead of the company’s official accounts.

Sharing the incident on social media, Gulati claimed the alleged fraud went on for months before inventory discrepancies prompted an internal investigation. According to her, the employees sold Nish Hair products without generating official bills and collected payments directly through their own UPI accounts, bypassing the company’s payment systems.

The entrepreneur said she spent an entire day at a police station attempting to initiate legal action after discovering the irregularities. She alleged that customers unknowingly paid the full price for products, believing they were purchasing through authorised company channels, while the money never reached Nish Hair’s accounts.

According to Gulati, the alleged scheme first came to light after repeated stock audits revealed significant mismatches between inventory records and actual sales. She claimed that daily sales worth approximately Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 were allegedly diverted, leading to substantial financial losses over time.

Following the incident, Gulati appealed to customers to always request official invoices and ensure payments are made only through Nish Hair’s verified payment channels. She warned consumers against transferring money to personal accounts while shopping at any of the brand’s stores.

The incident also sparked discussion online after Gulati initially posted the caption, “Bengaluru, you did me dirty.”
