Snapdeal is teaming up with YouTube as part of the YouTube Shopping affiliate program in India, giving creators another way to turn product recommendations into purchases.
Under the partnership, eligible creators can tag products listed on Snapdeal directly in their YouTube videos, Shorts and livestreams. Viewers can then discover the products while watching content and move from the recommendation to the purchase.
The partnership builds on Snapdeal’s existing work with creators, particularly around fashion and lifestyle products. Instead of discovering products through traditional listings alone, shoppers can now encounter them through content from creators they already follow.
The YouTube Shopping affiliate program allows eligible creators to browse products, tag them in their content and earn commissions on qualifying purchases. For viewers, the integration brings product discovery and shopping closer together, without requiring them to leave the content to search for the recommended product.
For Snapdeal sellers, the partnership adds another route to reach consumers through creator recommendations. It also gives creators an opportunity to bring affordable fashion and lifestyle products to their audiences in a more direct way.
The partnership comes as creator-led shopping continues to blur the line between content and commerce. A product recommendation that once ended with a search can now take viewers much closer to checkout, turning YouTube videos, Shorts and livestreams into another discovery point for Snapdeal.
