Swiggy has announced the launch of Builders Club, an ecosystem initiative aimed at bringing developers, startups, and enterprises into its AI-led commerce infrastructure. The move builds on its earlier MCP rollout but shifts the focus from access to structured participation, where external builders can develop and deploy AI-native applications on top of Swiggy’s platforms.
At launch, Builders Club will provide access to MCP servers and a set of APIs across Swiggy Food, Instamart, and Dineout. These capabilities are designed to support applications such as AI agents, copilots, and assistants that can execute real-world transactions, including ordering food, purchasing groceries, and booking dining experiences. This effectively allows third-party developers to embed Swiggy’s commerce functions into their own products and services.
The infrastructure supporting this initiative is built on Amazon Web Services, including Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. These tools enable developers to work with multiple foundation models and build agent-driven systems with flexibility in frameworks and deployment approaches. Swiggy also incorporates AWS Trainium to improve efficiency in AI model training and inference.
A key component of the ecosystem is the use of Skills, which function as reusable capabilities that help AI systems perform structured, real-world tasks. This creates a layer where developers can go beyond basic integrations and build more functional, task-oriented applications.
Access to Builders Club will follow an application-based model. Participants will be reviewed before being granted entry, with an emphasis on maintaining quality and aligning with the platform’s ecosystem goals. This controlled approach indicates that Swiggy is prioritising curated growth over open access in the early stages.
In addition to technical access, Builders Club introduces support mechanisms such as engineering guidance and opportunities for collaboration. Successful use cases may evolve into deeper partnerships, positioning the program as both a development layer and a pathway for ecosystem expansion.
The launch reflects Swiggy’s broader shift towards becoming an infrastructure layer for AI-driven commerce. By enabling external developers to build on top of its transactional capabilities, the company is extending its platform beyond its own interfaces and into a wider network of AI-powered applications.
Madhusudhan Rao, CTO, Swiggy, said, “The past few months have marked a fundamental shift in Swiggy’s trajectory. With MCP, we opened our commerce infrastructure to AI systems. Builders Club is the next bold step- extending that access to developers and enterprises so they can build AI commerce applications at scale on top of Swiggy. We are moving from platform to ecosystem orchestrator, providing the foundational layer for AI-native commerce innovation. Built on AWS, with Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore, this gives our builder community enterprise-grade infrastructure from day one.”
Sandeep Dutta, President, AWS India and South Asia, said, “Swiggy Builders Club represents the next evolution of AI-powered commerce, and we’re proud that AWS AI services are enabling this developer community. By combining Amazon Bedrock, AWS Trainium, and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, we’re giving builders the infrastructure to innovate without limits—whether they’re startups experimenting with new ideas or enterprises scaling production AI agents. This partnership demonstrates how open, flexible AI infrastructure can accelerate innovation across India’s digital economy.”
