Truecaller has partnered with Gupshup to expand the availability of its Business Messaging solution across India, Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, and several other international markets. The collaboration will enable enterprises to use Truecaller’s verified messaging capabilities through Gupshup’s business communication platform, providing an alternative to traditional SMS based customer engagement.
The partnership aims to help businesses communicate with consumers through verified, rich-media messages that include images, videos, and documents. The solution is designed to improve message visibility and user engagement while helping brands establish trust during customer interactions.
Truecaller Business Messaging includes a Verified Sender Identity that displays a brand’s name, logo, and a green verification badge. This feature allows users to identify authentic business messages more easily and may reduce the likelihood of messages being ignored or marked as spam.
The platform also supports rich media content, enabling businesses to share information such as invoices, boarding passes, promotional content, and visual updates directly within conversations. Unlike conventional SMS, the service allows brands to provide more detailed and interactive communication.
To improve customer convenience, the messaging solution includes one-tap call-to-action features. These allow users to perform actions such as copying one-time passwords, tracking orders, accessing payment links, or completing online check-ins directly from a message.
For time-sensitive communications, the platform offers Sticky Notifications that keep important updates, including OTPs and travel-related alerts, visible at the top of the chat interface until they are acted upon.
According to the companies, the solution can support multiple stages of the customer journey, including secure authentication, bill payments, service updates, customer support interactions, and feedback collection. Through the partnership, Gupshup will make Truecaller Business Messaging accessible to a wider range of enterprises across global markets.
Priyam Bose, Global Head, GTM, Truecaller, said, “This partnership is a meaningful step toward simplifying how global enterprises communicate with their customers. Together with Gupshup, we have an opportunity to empower the digital communication landscape globally and deliver experiences that are more trusted, useful, and conversational for end users.”
Beerud Sheth, Founder and CEO, Gupshup, said, “To drive effective customer engagement, businesses need to meet consumers where they are, on their terms. Through this partnership with Truecaller, we’re excited to offer enterprises another rich channel of interaction that consumers trust and use daily.”
