Women’s wellness brand Nua has raised $50 million in Series C funding led by Peak XV and Filter Capital. Existing investors Mirabilis Investment Trust and Footpath Ventures also participated in the round.
The funding round includes both primary capital and secondary transactions. Kae Capital, Lightbox VC and some existing investors are taking partial exits through the secondary component of the transaction.
Nua plans to use the fresh capital for brand building, expanding its distribution network and strengthening its research and development capabilities. The company aims to widen its product and innovation pipeline across the women’s wellness segment.
Founded in 2017, Nua operates across period care, maternity care and intimate care. The company also has digital offerings including the Nua Period Tracker App and SecretKeeper chat service, and currently serves more than 3 million women and girls every month.
Commenting on the funding, Ravi Ramachandran, Founder & CEO, Nua, said, “Since our inception, we have sought to address neglected needs in women’s wellness through better-for-her products and a brand that genuinely speaks to today’s young women and girls.”
He said “This foundation has helped us build a deeply loyal customer base and scale our annualised revenue run rate from Rs 100 crore to Rs 500 crore in just 24 months, while remaining profitable. As we look ahead, we will continue to anticipate the evolving needs of women and build products that make a meaningful difference to their everyday lives.”
Commenting on the investment, Sakshi Chopra, Managing Director, Peak XV, said, “Women’s wellness in India is a large and evolving opportunity, and Nua has demonstrated a strong ability to build a brand that resonates deeply with consumers.”
She further added, “The company has emerged as the fastest-growing brand in the category and the second-largest player online, demonstrating its ability to compete and win alongside much larger incumbents. We are excited to partner with Ravi and the Nua team as they continue to build Nua into a leading women’s wellness company.”
