Zelio E-Mobility has appointed Divyanshu Agarwal as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective April 15, following approval from the company’s board based on the recommendation of its nomination and remuneration committee. Zelio is also expanding into commercial mobility use cases, including delivery and small business transport, alongside its core personal mobility segment.
Agarwal, a 26 year old chartered accountant, joins from Navi, where he most recently served as Head of UPI Business and Growth. He began his tenure at Navi in 2021 as a finance associate and was involved in key initiatives including the company’s DRHP process and private equity fundraising efforts.
Prior to Navi, he trained at Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants, working on audits of listed companies. At Zelio, he will take over a role that had remained vacant, with founder Kunal Arya previously overseeing operations as Managing Director since the company’s inception in 2021.
Zelio operates in the electric mobility segment, focusing on electric two wheelers and three wheelers, with a strategy centred on non metro and underserved markets. The company has expanded its presence to over 25 states with a dealer network of more than 300 partners, with strong traction in regions such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Zelio has focused on low speed vehicles, typically capped at 25 kmph, allowing it to operate in a less competitive but larger market segment. The company also runs a six acre manufacturing facility in Hisar with an annual production capacity of 72,000 units and is working to increase localisation of components significantly over the next three years.
