CureBay has acquired the pharmacy distribution business of Saveo Healthtech, marking a significant step in strengthening its medicine supply infrastructure. Backed by Bertelsmann India Investments, Elevar Equity and British International Investment (BII), CureBay aims to leverage the acquisition to scale its pharmacy distribution network and improve access to essential medicines across semi-urban and rural India.
Saveo’s pharmacy distribution business operates as a technology-enabled B2B platform, serving more than 10,000 retail pharmacies across Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, with key operational hubs in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
The acquisition aims to build an integrated healthcare ecosystem where consultations, diagnostics and pharmacy services function seamlessly together. The move is expected to play a critical role in delivering reliable, affordable and end-to-end healthcare solutions across underserved regions of India.
Commenting on the development, Priyadarshi Mohapatra, Founder and CEO, CureBay, said: “Medicines are central to continuity of care. By acquiring Saveo’s pharmacy distribution business, we are strengthening our ability to ensure consistent and affordable access to medicines across the communities we serve. We see significant value in Saveo’s operating processes, procurement depth and experienced team. This integration accelerates our pharmacy roadmap, enables us to scale faster and improves customer satisfaction by reducing supply gaps and enhancing reliability.”
Sharing his perspective on the integration, Amit Kumar, Co-Founder, Saveo, said: “Saveo has built a disciplined, technology-first distribution business designed to serve pharmacies efficiently. By becoming part of CureBay, our platform, processes and team will now support a broader healthcare network and help strengthen medicine access at scale.”
Following the acquisition, Saveo’s existing pharmacy partners will continue operating within the integrated network, gaining access to expanded sourcing capabilities and CureBay’s broader healthcare ecosystem. At the same time, CureBay’s clinics and partner pharmacies are expected to benefit from a more reliable and efficient distribution backbone.
