Delhivery has officially announced the appointment of tech veteran Neelam Dhawan as a Non-Executive Independent Director, effective today, March 20, 2026. According to the company’s statement, Dhawan will also take over the role of Chairperson of the Board of Directors starting April 1, 2026. She succeeds Deepak Kapoor, who is stepping down after more than eight years of service.
The company says this transition is part of a planned ‘board rejuvenation’ exercise. Sahil Barua, MD and CEO of Delhivery, stated that Dhawan’s experience in leading iconic technology companies will be ‘invaluable’ as the platform continues to scale. Dhawan is well-known in the industry, having previously served as the Managing Director for Microsoft India and Hewlett-Packard (HP) India.
Currently, Dhawan holds independent directorships at several major firms, including Hindustan Unilever, Tech Mahindra, and Ather Energy. Delhivery claims her leadership will further strengthen its governance and strategic vision. This appointment comes at a time when Delhivery is expanding its international network and focusing on technology-led logistics solutions.
The board also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing Chairman Deepak Kapoor, who guided the company through its 2022 IPO. With Dhawan’s appointment, Delhivery says it is moving into its next phase of growth with a refreshed leadership team. The move follows other recent board additions, including leaders from the fintech and consumer electronics sectors.
Sahil Barua, MD & Chief Executive Officer, Delhivery, said, “We are delighted to welcome Neelam Dhawan to the Delhivery Board as our Chairperson. Her exceptional track record in leading some of the world’s most iconic technology companies, as well as her diverse set of experiences as a seasoned Board Member will be invaluable as Delhivery continues to scale its technology-led logistics platform. Neelam’s leadership will further strengthen our governance framework and strategic vision”
