Varun Raina has rejoined Airbnb as Senior Marketing Lead, India, where he will lead the company’s marketing efforts in the country, focusing on brand strategy, integrated campaigns and driving consumer engagement as travel demand continues to grow.
Raina announced the development through a post via LinkedIn.
Previously, he was Global Integrated Marketing Lead at WhatsApp from May 2022 to April 2025, based in San Francisco, where he led global brand, product marketing and go to market efforts across privacy, monetisation and key features. Before that, he served as Lead Consumer and Brand Marketing for WhatsApp India at Meta from April 2020 to May 2022, managing India focused campaigns and strategy.
Earlier in his career, he worked at Airbnb as Senior Marketing Manager from March 2017 to April 2020, leading marketing across creative, media and analytics in India. He was Senior Brand Manager for developing markets at Reckitt from July 2015 to March 2017.
Before that, he spent over two years at Nestlé from February 2013 to July 2015, first as Brand Communications and Corporate Brand Manager until August 2014 and then as Brand Manager for Nescafé Equity until July 2015.
He also worked at PepsiCo from March 2010 to February 2013, initially as Sales Manager until November 2011 and later as Brand Lead for Lipton Ice Tea until February 2013. Earlier, he was Category Manager Telecom at Jumbo Electronics from June 2008 to November 2009, and worked on branding and marketing communications for the Commonwealth Youth Games India project from February 2008 to May 2008.
