AU Small Finance Bank has partnered with Intellect Design Arena to adopt the Purple Fabric platform, an Open Business Impact AI platform aimed at supporting the bank’s transition towards becoming an AI first institution. The collaboration is focused on strengthening enterprise wide intelligence, improving operational efficiency, and scaling technology led banking capabilities.
The partnership combines AU Small Finance Bank’s AI driven banking strategy with Intellect Design Arena’s enterprise AI and banking technology capabilities. The initiative is intended to support the bank in embedding AI across customer journeys, operational processes, and decision making functions.
AU Small Finance Bank currently operates more than 2,790 banking touchpoints across 21 states and 4 union territories, serving over 1.2 crore customers. As part of its digital transformation strategy, the bank was looking for an AI architecture that could support scalable deployment, domain specific intelligence, and integration with existing banking ecosystems.
Under the collaboration, the bank will use Purple Fabric as its enterprise AI platform to support AI deployment across business functions. The platform is designed to provide flexibility in model selection, process unstructured enterprise data, and integrate with existing technology systems.
The bank will also implement PF Credit agents, AI powered decision engines that can analyse customer data in real time, automate credit assessments, and support lending decisions with faster processing and greater consistency.
According to the companies, the Purple Fabric platform will allow AU Small Finance Bank to build and scale AI agents across business operations, access a multi model LLM Hub, operationalize enterprise data, and establish a cost efficient AI infrastructure aligned with future banking requirements.
Sanjay Agarwal, Founder, MD & CEO, AU Small Finance Bank, said, “At AU, our vision is to become an AI-first bank by embedding intelligence into every layer of our business and operations. We were looking for a solution that goes beyond conventional AI and enables domain-led innovation at scale. Intellect’s Purple Fabric platform gives us the flexibility and scale to bring this vision to life – helping us make faster decisions, strengthen risk assessment, and deliver more personalized experiences to our customers.”
Ramanan SV, CEO-India & South Asia, Intellect Design Arena, said, “The real challenge in enterprise AI is not experimentation, but scaling it into everyday business operations with consistency and measurable business impact. Purple Fabric is designed to address this by providing a scalable foundation that brings together model flexibility, domain-driven intelligence, and enterprise-grade data orchestration. With AU Small Finance Bank, we are enabling a structured approach to AI adoption, where the platform establishes the foundation and use cases such as PF Credit accelerate the shift towards intelligent, data-driven decisioning.”
