DS Group has entered into an exclusive master franchise agreement with UK based Ben’s Cookies, bringing the premium cookie brand to India as it looks to expand its presence in the country’s growing premium food and café segment. The company plans to open up to 10 outlets across Delhi and Mumbai during FY27, with the first few stores expected to launch in the coming months.

Founded in Oxford in 1983, Ben’s Cookies is known for its freshly baked cookies made with chocolate chunks and premium ingredients. Unlike traditional packaged cookie brands, the company operates through a fresh baking model where products are baked throughout the day and sold through dedicated retail outlets.

The India launch comes as consumer demand for premium snacking, café experiences and indulgent food products continues to grow, particularly among urban millennials and Gen Z consumers. DS Group is positioning Ben’s Cookies within the premium dessert and gifting segment, targeting customers looking for international food brands and experience-led retail formats.

According to reports, individual cookies are expected to be priced at around Rs 325, while premium gifting packs could be priced above Rs 1,500. The company sees gifting occasions, celebrations and festive demand as key growth drivers for the brand in India.

The expansion strategy will also include digital and delivery channels, with the brand expected to partner with food delivery platforms to reach consumers beyond physical stores. Over the longer term, DS Group is evaluating expansion into additional cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Kolkata.

To maintain product consistency, the company plans to import cookie dough from the UK while establishing a temperature controlled supply chain. Reports suggest the brand will rely on specialised cold chain infrastructure and quality control systems to ensure uniform taste, texture and freshness across its Indian operations.

The launch marks DS Group’s latest move into premium food retail as global specialty food brands continue to explore opportunities in India’s evolving consumer market, where premiumisation and experiential consumption are becoming increasingly important purchasing drivers.
