Hindustan Unilever has introduced Liquid I.V. Sugar Free in India, expanding the hydration brand’s product portfolio following its entry into the Indian market last year. The launch comes as demand for functional beverages and sugar-free hydration products continues to grow among health-conscious consumers.
The new product targets consumers seeking sugar-free hydration solutions and is positioned in India’s expanding functional wellness and hydration segment. The launch follows broader growth in the country’s sugar-free beverage category, driven by increasing consumer interest in fitness, wellness, and mindful consumption.
Liquid I.V. Sugar Free is formulated with a proprietary amino acid blend containing L-Glutamine and L-Alanine. According to the company, the ingredients support sodium-dependent transport pathways in the gut to aid fluid absorption without using glucose.
The formulation also includes sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and chloride, as well as nine vitamins and minerals. The product uses plant-based stevia as a sweetener and contains no artificial sweeteners or colours.
The company said the product is designed to maintain optimal osmolarity while supporting hydration and replenishment. The amino acid blend serves as an alternative to glucose while supporting the product’s sugar-free formulation.
Liquid I.V. Sugar Free is being launched in three flavours: Mango Pineapple, Raspberry Melon, and Juicy Peach. The product is available on Liquid I.V. India’s official website, e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms, as well as selected retail outlets across the country.
Commenting on the launch, Guntas Randhawa, Head of Liquid I.V., India, said, “The wellness and hydration category in India is evolving rapidly, driven by consumers who are increasingly prioritising informed choices, functional benefits, and cleaner formulations.”
He further added, “The launch of Liquid I.V. Sugar-Free reflects our commitment to expand the category with solutions that address emerging consumer needs while broadening access to science-backed hydration. As we continue to build the brand in India, this launch represents an important step in strengthening our portfolio and driving long-term growth within the wellness space.”
