Zoomcar Partners With Uber To Give Travellers Self-Drive And Chauffeur-Driven Options

Zoomcar has partnered with Uber to bring self-drive rentals and chauffeur-driven intercity rides onto the same platform, giving travellers more options while planning road trips.

Under the partnership, users searching for a self-drive vehicle on the Zoomcar app can also discover and book Uber Intercity rides on eligible routes. The integration is currently live in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Mumbai, with plans to expand to more cities.

The partnership brings together two different approaches to intercity travel.

Travellers who want control over their journey can continue to book a self-drive car through Zoomcar. Those who prefer not to drive can opt for an Uber Intercity vehicle with a chauffeur.

The options are available for select one-way and round-trip routes, allowing users to compare the two formats without switching between platforms.

For Zoomcar, the integration expands the range of travel choices available to its existing users, while Uber gets another channel through which customers can discover its Intercity service.

Zoomcar operates a peer-to-peer car-sharing model, connecting vehicle owners with customers looking for self-drive rentals. The company says it operates across more than 100 cities, with over 42,000 vehicles onboarded and more than 10 million guests on its platform.

Uber, meanwhile, has been expanding its Intercity offering across India. The company said in 2025 that the service had grown to more than 3,000 city-to-city routes, covering metros as well as smaller cities.

By putting both options together, Zoomcar and Uber are essentially allowing travellers to choose how they want to travel rather than locking them into a single format.

The integration is currently limited to Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Mumbai, with additional cities expected to be added as the partnership expands.
