Stationery and art materials manufacturer DOMS Industries Limited celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with a unique employee engagement initiative that encouraged participants to transform waste into meaningful works of art.

The DOMS World Environment Day Initiative combined creativity and sustainability, challenging employees to rethink how discarded materials can be repurposed rather than thrown away. Moving beyond traditional environmental awareness activities, teams stepped into public spaces to collect broken objects, abandoned materials, and everyday items that would otherwise end up as waste.

These discarded materials were then transformed into artistic creations through painting, design, and creative innovation. The exercise aimed to demonstrate how imagination can uncover value in objects often considered useless, while also encouraging conversations around responsible consumption and environmental stewardship.

Built on the belief that waste can be reimagined as a resource, the initiative inspired employees to look at sustainability through a creative lens. Through their artworks, participants highlighted important themes including recycling, mindful living, and the need to reduce environmental impact through everyday choices.

The resulting creations served as visual reminders that sustainability extends beyond waste management practices. Instead, it begins with a shift in perspective, one that encourages people to rethink how they interact with the materials and resources around them.

More than a creative exercise, the initiative became a reflection of how small actions can contribute to larger environmental conversations. Participants were encouraged to see beauty in broken objects, opportunity in discarded materials, and potential in items that might otherwise be overlooked.

As each artwork took shape, it reinforced a larger message at the heart of the campaign: sustainability is not only about reducing waste but also about reimagining how resources can be used more thoughtfully.
