JGP Jewellers has released a Marathi short film ‘The Godhadi Effect’, using storytelling to explore the emotional value attached to family jewellery while drawing attention to the idea of gold exchange.
The film stars Marathi actors Jitendra Joshi, Madhurani Gokhale, Sai Godbole, and Pradeep Welankar. Inspired by the godhadi, a traditional quilt stitched together from old pieces of fabric, the story uses the metaphor to show how memories can be preserved across generations even as treasured possessions take on new forms.
The campaign is the brand’s second storytelling focused film featuring the same cast, following its earlier festive campaign, The Result, which centered on equality within modern families.
Through ‘The Godhadi Effect’, JGP Jewellers highlights the concept of exchanging old gold jewellery while acknowledging the emotional significance such heirlooms hold for families. The film suggests that while jewellery may be redesigned or exchanged, the memories and relationships associated with it continue to endure.

Speaking about the initiative, Asavari Pednekar, Managing Director (MD), Jagannath Gangaram Pednekar (JGP) Jewellers, said, “Every piece of jewellery has a story it reflects celebrations, relationships and memories that stay with us for generations.”
“With ‘The Godhadi Effect’, we wanted to celebrate these emotions while encouraging families to look at gold exchange through a new lens. We hope the film resonates with families and inspires meaningful conversations around preserving both memories and value.”
