Meta has quietly introduced Pocket, a new experimental AI-powered app that enables users to create interactive mini-games and digital experiences simply by describing them in natural language. The launch marks the company’s latest step in expanding its consumer AI portfolio beyond chatbots and productivity tools into creative, social experiences.
Described as a platform where users can “create, share and discover gizmos,” Pocket uses generative AI to transform text prompts into playable interactive experiences. Instead of requiring coding or game development skills, users can type what they want to build—ranging from simple games to creative animations and interactive objects and the AI generates the experience within seconds.
At the heart of the app are “gizmos,” which Meta describes as small, interactive creations that respond to user input. These experiences can incorporate touch interactions, animations, sound effects, music, camera access and even AI reasoning capabilities, allowing creators to build richer digital experiences without writing code.
Pocket also introduces a social layer to AI creation. Users can browse a discovery feed featuring creations from other users, play interactive experiences, remix existing gizmos and publish their own projects. Before sharing, creators can further refine their creations using an in-app editor, making the platform as much about collaboration as content generation.
The app builds on technology developed by Atma Sciences, the startup behind the AI-powered creative platform Gizmo. Earlier this year, Meta hired members of the Gizmo team and secured a non-exclusive licence to the company’s technology, which now appears to power Pocket’s underlying experience-generation capabilities.
While the app has appeared on Android and iOS app stores in select markets, Meta has not yet announced a wider global rollout or detailed availability across regions. The company has also not disclosed when Pocket will become broadly accessible to users worldwide.
