Navi Mutual Fund has launched an investor awareness campaign focused on index fund investing, using humour and everyday situations to make conversations around investing more relatable to young Indians.
The campaign features two digital films that bring index fund terminology into familiar social settings. The first film, Akhada, follows a traditional wrestler performing malkhamb. When his guru asks about his future plans, the wrestler responds using index fund terminology instead of discussing wrestling ambitions, creating a humorous contrast.
The second film, Date, takes place during a first meeting between a young couple at a restaurant. The conversation about hobbies and interests takes an unexpected turn when the man begins describing himself almost entirely through the language of index funds.
Through these everyday situations, the campaign presents financial concepts in a simpler and more accessible way. It also reflects the growing presence of investing conversations among younger consumers and encourages first-time investors to explore passive investing.
Aditya Mulki, CEO of Navi AMC, said, “Index funds have emerged as one of the simplest and most transparent ways for investors to participate in the growth of the markets, yet investing is often perceived as complicated. Through this campaign, we wanted to make investing conversations feel natural and approachable by placing them in everyday situations people instantly recognise.”
He further added, “Our objective is to spark curiosity, encourage learning and help more Indians take their first step towards long-term wealth creation.”
Vishal Dayama, Founder Braindad, said, “The brief lent itself to a more unconventional approach. Rather than explaining what index funds are, we built stories around characters who are hilariously passionate about them. Watching that passion spill into unexpected situations made the films entertaining, while subtly reinforcing that conversations around investing are becoming more mainstream.”
