Nearly 64% Of Creators Would Produce Longer Videos If Storage Weren’t A Limitation: Sandisk Study

Sandisk's latest creator economy study reveals that 75% of Indian creators publish content weekly, while over 60% face storage challenges. The report highlights how technology is shaping creativity, consistency and content production across India.

Sandisk has released findings from its latest report, ‘The Content Rush: Inside India’s New Always-On Creator Economy,’ conducted in partnership with CyberMedia Research (CMR). 

The study highlights how content creation has become a powerful form of self-expression: over 80% of early-stage creators say they feel more confident when their content resonates with audiences, and 81% find purpose in turning everyday moments into engaging stories.

The research also points to the rapid evolution of India’s creator ecosystem beyond traditional metropolitan hubs. While regional influences continue to shape content styles and creator behavior, the study suggests that creators across the country are becoming more consistent, professional, and committed to building long-term digital careers.

Indian Creators Are Publishing More Content Than Ever

According to the study, nearly 75% of Indian creators publish content every week, underlining the growing importance of consistency in today’s creator economy. Creators across amateur, semi-professional, professional, and full-time influencer categories regularly work with Full HD videos and high-resolution images, with many producing between 5GB and 10GB of content daily.

The report also highlights distinct regional trends in content creation. North India is witnessing a shift towards more professional creators, while South India stands out for its consistency and higher content output. East India is showing signs of structured creator operations, whereas West India continues to be driven by younger creators building community-focused content.

Storage Challenges Continue to Limit Creative Growth

As content production increases, creators are facing growing technical challenges. Around 60% of respondents reported experiencing storage-related issues on a daily or weekly basis. Slow file transfers (55%), insufficient storage capacity (52%), and devices running out of space during shoots (41%) emerged as the biggest obstacles affecting their workflow.

The study found that removing storage limitations could unlock greater creativity. Nearly 64% of creators said they would produce longer videos, 58% would experiment with new content formats, and 45% would store RAW files if storage were not a concern. Almost half of the respondents also said better storage solutions would give them greater confidence to create.

The findings are based on a survey of more than 6,000 creators aged between 18 and 35 across 13 cities in urban and emerging India. Sandisk said the report reflects how reliable storage infrastructure is becoming increasingly important as India’s creator economy continues to grow across platforms, formats, and regions.
