OneAssist has partnered with fintech platform Ezeepay to make smartphone screen protection plans more accessible for consumers across India. The collaboration will allow eligible smartphone users to protect their existing devices through Ezeepay’s network of retail partners.
The partnership addresses a growing need for smartphone protection as device prices and repair costs continue to rise. While many consumers invest heavily in their smartphones, many existing devices remain uninsured against accidental damage, leaving users to bear expensive repair costs.
Through this collaboration, consumers can access OneAssist’s AI-powered device assessment technology to check whether their existing smartphones qualify for protection. Unlike traditional protection plans, which are often purchased at the time of purchase, this offering allows users to enroll eligible smartphones even after purchase.
The process will be enabled through the Ezeepay Retailer App. Retailers can help customers initiate the protection journey by sharing a digital link, where users upload a short video of their smartphone. OneAssist’s AI-based system assesses the device condition and determines eligibility within minutes.
Once approved, customers can access benefits such as screen damage protection, doorstep pickup and delivery services, and repairs through authorised service centres.
For Ezeepay’s retailer network, the partnership adds smartphone protection as a new digital service offering, allowing retailers to provide additional value to customers while creating new revenue opportunities. The initiative aims to increase the adoption of device protection across urban, semi-urban, and rural markets.
Commenting on the partnership, Abhishek Maheshwari, CEO of OneAssist, said: “Smartphones today represent one of the most valuable everyday investments for consumers, with device prices increasing significantly over the past few years. Yet, a large number of existing smartphones continue to remain unprotected, exposing users to expensive repair costs in the event of accidental damage.”
He further added, “Through our partnership with Ezeepay, we are making it simple for consumers to protect the smartphones they already own through an AI-powered digital assessment and a trusted nationwide retail network. Together, we are making smartphone protection more accessible, convenient, and relevant for millions of users across India.”
Shams Tabrej, Co-founder & CEO of Ezeepay (MJ Digital Services), said: “At Ezeepay, we are committed to equipping our retailer network with relevant, high-impact services that create value for both consumers and businesses. As smartphones become more valuable and repair costs continue to increase, protecting existing devices has become more important than ever.”
He further added, “Our partnership with OneAssist enables retailers to offer a trusted AI-powered smartphone protection solution while creating new revenue opportunities and delivering greater value to customers.”
