Spotify is expanding its Spotify Partner Program to more than 35 new international markets, giving eligible podcast creators access to additional monetisation opportunities. The rollout is scheduled to begin later this autumn and marks the program’s largest geographic expansion to date.
The expansion covers markets across Latin America, Southern and Eastern Europe and the Caribbean, including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Italy, Spain and Poland.
Under the Spotify Partner Program, eligible podcasters can earn through multiple revenue streams, including payouts linked to Spotify Premium video consumption, advertising revenue from Spotify Free listeners and advertising across other podcast platforms.
Creators can also retain 100% of revenue from direct brand sponsorships and host read integrations.
For Premium subscribers in the newly added markets, Spotify will remove dynamic advertising from participating video podcast episodes, while creator placed sponsorships will remain.
The latest expansion follows changes to the program’s eligibility requirements earlier this year, which made it accessible to more creators.
Following those changes, Spotify said monthly payouts to participating shows have increased by more than a third. Video shows enrolled in the program have also recorded more than 45% average growth in consumption hours.
Spotify has also reported continued growth in video podcast consumption. Since the introduction of video podcasts on the platform in 2022, consumption of the format has increased by 140%.
Shows including Mark Manson’s SOLVED and Bella Fiori’s Mystery Mondays are among the podcasts that have seen audience and revenue growth through the program.
The latest expansion will bring the Spotify Partner Program to markets across Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean later this autumn.
