Transport Corporation of India has expanded its road safety programme, TCI Safe Safar, to schools with the launch of TCI Safe Safar Junior, an initiative aimed at introducing road safety education to children through classroom engagement and digital content.

As part of the programme, the company has also launched #RoadSafetyHaiCoolFollowTheRule, a digital-first campaign designed to make road safety lessons more engaging for young audiences. The campaign includes short videos, interactive learning material, and storytelling-based content featuring animated characters to help children understand road safety rules and responsible behavior.

The school-focused initiative marks the next phase of TCI Safe Safar, which was launched in 2019 to promote road safety awareness through workshops, community outreach, and awareness drives across India. While the original programme primarily targeted communities and highway users, Safe Safar Junior shifts the focus to schools with the aim of encouraging safe road habits from an early age.

According to the company, the school outreach programme has so far reached more than 157 schools, conducted over 172 awareness sessions, and engaged nearly 24,000 students and around 2,000 teachers across the country.

Since its launch, TCI Safe Safar has travelled more than 80,000 kilometres across India and reached over 1.2 million people through its road safety awareness activities.

With TCI Safe Safar Junior, the company plans to continue expanding its school engagement efforts through awareness sessions, educational resources, and digital campaigns, with additional initiatives expected to roll out in the coming months.

Rajkiran Kanagala, President & Chief Business Officer – TCI Group said, “Road safety awareness is most effective when introduced early in life. Through TCI Safe Safar Junior, we aim to empower children with the knowledge and confidence to become responsible road users. By combining education with engaging and age-appropriate content, we hope to inspire safer habits that children can carry with them for life and share within their families and communities.”
