Zepto has been making headlines recently for a mix of business and consumer-facing developments. The company has been under close watch as it moves toward a public listing, while also facing broader scrutiny over trust, product quality, and its quick-commerce delivery model.
Zepto is also in the news because of its growing IPO plans. Co-founder Aadit Palicha is set to become India’s youngest managing director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a publicly listed company when the quick commerce startup makes its stock market debut. The company is reportedly targeting an IPO of Rs 9,000 crore to Rs 10,000 crore later this year.
In one of its recent controversies, comedian and actor Vir Das alleged that he received a counterfeit Apple Watch through Zepto after placing an urgent order worth nearly Rs 50,000.
After his social media posts gained attention, Zepto replaced the device with a genuine Apple Watch, initiated a reverse pickup for investigation, and advised customers to verify the seal on high-value products before sharing the delivery OTP.
