Quick-commerce platform Zepto has increased the minimum order value required to qualify for free delivery to Rs 199 from Rs 149, according to reports published on August 19, 2026.
The latest change means customers placing smaller orders may now have to add more items to their cart to avoid delivery charges. The move also brings Zepto’s regular threshold in line with the reported minimum order values of key rivals Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart.
The platform had previously moved its minimum order value from Rs 99 to Rs 149 for several users. The latest Rs 199 threshold represents a further Rs 50 increase.
However, Rs 199 is not necessarily the threshold customers will see at all times. During periods of high demand, Zepto’s minimum order value for free delivery can reportedly increase to Rs 299.
This indicates that the platform is increasingly linking delivery economics with demand levels rather than maintaining a single threshold across all situations.
A higher minimum order value can encourage customers to add more products to their carts before placing an order. This could help increase average order values and net order value, while improving the economics of smaller deliveries.
The move is particularly significant for quick commerce because the category was built around convenience and small, frequent purchases. Increasing the free-delivery threshold could therefore change how consumers use the platform, especially for low-value or single-item orders.
At the same time, the higher threshold may test consumers’ willingness to add products they did not initially intend to buy simply to avoid a delivery charge.
