Tara Kapur has been appointed as Director of Marketing for the Duolingo English Test. In this role, she will lead global marketing for the Duolingo English Test, focusing on expanding its reach and strengthening its positioning as an alternative to traditional language testing.

Kapur has been associated with Duolingo for over three years. She has been serving as Head of Marketing for the Duolingo English Test since March 2026 in a global role. Prior to this, she worked as India Market Lead for the Duolingo English Test from April 2024 to March 2026 in Mumbai, and earlier as India Marketing Head from December 2022 to April 2024.
Alongside this, she was a Founding Member at Vitamin Stree from January 2017 to June 2023 in Mumbai. Earlier, Kapur worked at Netflix from January 2020 to December 2022, where she served as Lead Series Marketing from January 2022 to December 2022, Films and Series Marketing Manager from April 2021 to March 2022, and Social Marketing Manager from January 2020 to April 2021.
Before that, she was associated with VICE Media from October 2018 to December 2019, serving as Senior Manager Business Development and Partnerships APAC from October 2019 to December 2019 and Manager Syndication and Marketing Alliances from October 2018 to September 2019.
She also worked at Kulfi Collective from January 2015 to September 2018, where she held multiple roles including Head of Marketing and Communications from January 2016 to September 2018, Founding Member from January 2015 to September 2018, and Executive Producer and Business Development Head from January 2015 to January 2016.
Earlier in her career, she worked at Times Network from January 2011 to December 2014 in Mumbai, where she served as Marketing and Advertising Reporter for ET Now and Senior Producer for feature shows.
