Chennai-based kitchenware brand The Indus Valley has raised $17 million (around Rs 161 crore) in a Series B funding round led by Gaja Capital. Existing investors DSG Consumer Partners, Rukam Capital, and The Chennai Angels also participated in the round, providing fresh capital to support the company’s next phase of growth.

Founded in 2016 by Jagadeesh Kumar and Madhumitha Uday Kumar, The Indus Valley manufactures toxin-free, non-coated cookware across categories such as cast iron, stainless steel, triply cookware, iron cookware, and pressure cookers. The brand has positioned itself as a healthier alternative to conventional non-stick cookware.

Funding to Drive Product Expansion and Distribution

The company said the newly raised capital will be used to accelerate product innovation, strengthen its omnichannel distribution network, and invest further in brand-building initiatives. It also plans to expand its presence across safer kitchen product categories as consumer demand for healthier cookware continues to grow.

The Series B round includes participation from existing investors alongside Gaja Capital, reflecting continued confidence in the company’s business model and growth strategy. The funding is expected to help The Indus Valley deepen its reach across online and offline retail channels while expanding its product portfolio.

Company Eyes Long-Term Growth in Premium Kitchenware

The Indus Valley has grown into one of India’s emerging premium kitchenware brands with an annual revenue run rate of around Rs 200 crore. The company has set an ambitious target of reaching Rs 1,000 crore in annual revenue by 2030 through category expansion and wider market penetration.

Commenting on the investment, the company said the funding will support its mission of making toxin-free cookware more accessible to Indian households. Investors also highlighted the brand’s disciplined execution, growing distribution network, and strong position in the fast-growing healthy kitchenware segment.
