airpay, a digital payments platform, has released a festive film titled Merchant’s Festive Checklist, focusing on the demands merchants face during Diwali and the role of payment services in managing the seasonal rush.
Built around the campaign line ‘Tyohaar Aapka. Zimmedari Humari,’ the film follows a shopkeeper managing the pressures of a busy Diwali day.
As a narrator lists his responsibilities, including handling stock, staff, suppliers and customers, the shopkeeper is asked whether payments are also his responsibility. His response, ‘Nahi,’ delivers the campaign’s central message through a moment of dry humour.
The campaign marks 14 years of airpay building payment infrastructure for businesses. It centres on the idea that merchants should be able to focus on customers and sales during the festive rush without having to worry about managing the payments experience.
The film also highlights the people behind festive commerce, from shopkeepers handling increased footfall to businesses managing longer working hours. Its closing messages, “Asli human support” and ‘14 Saalon ka bharosa,’ refer to airpay’s focus on combining payment technology with human support.
The film premiered on YouTube and is set to roll out across digital platforms, with the campaign also extending to OTT platforms.
Commenting on the campaign, Kunal Jhunjhunwala, Founder, airpay, said, “For merchants, Diwali is one of the most important times of the year. There is excitement, opportunity and a tremendous amount of work that goes into making the season successful.”
“Having worked with merchants for 14 years, we understand how important it is for them to have a payment partner they can rely on, especially when business is at its busiest,” he added.
“With this film, we wanted to celebrate the people behind the festive rush and remind them that while they take care of their customers and their business, they can count on airpay to take care of their payments. That is what ‘Tyohaar Aapka. Zimmedari Humari’ means to us,” he said.
