KFC India has released an AI-generated ad for Durga Pujo in Kolkata, featuring its founder, Colonel Sanders, turning objects around the city into golden, crispy fried chicken. The film playfully twists the Midas touch to promote the brand’s Krispy Momos, available in Kolkata only during Pujo.
The ad features Colonel Sanders speaking in Bengali as he moves through the city, with everything he touches transforming into fried chicken. The campaign uses the festive setting and local language to promote the limited-period offering.

Producing a film of this kind would traditionally involve location or studio shoots, actors playing Colonel Sanders and other characters, and animation to create the transformation effects. KFC India has instead used artificial intelligence to create the ad, with the process reportedly taking less than a day.
The campaign adds KFC India to a growing list of major advertisers experimenting with AI for ad production. Brands including Hindustan Unilever and Tata Consumer Products have also used AI to create advertising content, reflecting how the technology is becoming part of mainstream campaign development rather than being limited to supporting tasks.
