redBus has launched a new brand campaign, ‘Bus Travel Ka Tareeka Badal Raha Hai’, highlighting how travel features such as in-bus toilets and flexible boarding and dropping points are changing the intercity bus travel experience.
The campaign focuses on the changing expectations of younger travellers, particularly Gen Z, who increasingly look for convenience, flexibility and greater control when planning their journeys. Through humorous, everyday situations, the films show how travellers can use redBus features to address common travel needs.
The campaign comprises six films, with the first two rolling out in the first week of October. These films focus on in-bus toilets and flexible boarding and dropping points, while the remaining films will be released in subsequent phases.
The first film centres on an in-bus toilet. It follows a young man whose private phone conversation takes an unexpected turn when he steps out of what initially appears to be a regular bathroom, revealing that he has been using the toilet on his bus. He then returns to his seat beside his grandfather and exchanges a glance with his girlfriend, who is travelling with her family on the same bus.
The second film highlights the flexibility of choosing boarding and dropping points. A woman sees off a man at a nearby bus stop, allowing the couple to spend more time together before his departure. As his bus leaves, another bus arrives at the same stop, and a second man steps out to be greeted by the woman with a bouquet of roses. The unexpected twist uses humour to highlight how convenient boarding and dropping locations can fit into different travel plans.
The six-film campaign will roll out across YouTube, Meta, OTT platforms, connected TV (CTV), regional television in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha, and during the India-West Indies cricket series on JioHotstar.
The films will be available in 10 Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Odia and Punjabi. The remaining films will introduce additional travel scenarios under the campaign’s central theme.
Commenting on the campaign, Pallavi Chopra, Chief Marketing Officer, redBus, said, “The way people experience bus travel has been changing steadily, and we wanted to give that change a simple and memorable creative expression. ‘Bus Travel Ka Tareeka Badal Raha Hai’ is built around the idea that even a practical travel feature can become part of an interesting everyday story.”
“Humour allows us to make these moments engaging and culturally familiar, while helping build a more contemporary conversation around bus travel. As the campaign unfolds in phases, we hope to keep discovering fresh stories around how people travel and the experiences that shape their journeys,” she added.
