Khushi Kapoor Joins Nailinit As Co-Founder, Enters Beauty Business

Actor Khushi Kapoor has ventured into the beauty business, joining Indian nail care brand Nailinit as Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer (CCO). The actor will work alongside the brand’s founders, Shubham Singhal and Tanishq Ambegaokar, with responsibilities spanning product development, design, brand campaigns and creative direction.

The move marks Kapoor’s entry into entrepreneurship, taking her interest in beauty and nail art beyond personal use and into brand building. Unlike a conventional celebrity endorsement, her association with Nailinit involves participation in product development and several operational aspects of the business.

According to the media reports, Kapoor has been involved in vendor selection, material research and design decisions, including work on the adhesive used in the brand’s press-on nails.

Before publicly announcing her role, Kapoor introduced the brand through a slumber party in Alibaug. The event was designed as an experiential introduction to Nailinit, with Kapoor inviting her Instagram followers to apply for an opportunity to attend.

The launch format moved away from a conventional celebrity-led brand announcement, using an intimate gathering and social media participation to introduce the brand. The idea was to build a community around nail art and beauty while giving potential consumers an opportunity to engage with the products.

Nailinit’s product portfolio centres on press-on nails, which offer an alternative to conventional salon appointments. The brand also offers complementary nail care products, including cuticle oil, alongside guidance on nail preparation, application and removal.

A key part of Kapoor’s involvement has been improving the product experience, particularly the adhesive used for the press-on nails. She said she wanted the products to offer a secure hold similar to acrylic nails while avoiding the damage associated with them.

Her involvement also extends to design collections, material research and vendor selection. Beyond the product itself, she has participated in discussions around manufacturing, sourcing, warehousing and team building.

As Co-Founder and CCO, Kapoor will continue working with Singhal and Ambegaokar on new designs, product development, campaigns and the overall customer experience.
