Chaitanya Mallapur has joined JM Financial Limited as Assistant Vice President – Corporate Communications, marking a move from the technology sector to the financial services industry. He announced his appointment through a LinkedIn post on November 3.
Mallapur joins JM Financial from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he spent five years as Specialist – Corporate Communications. During his tenure, he worked in the corporate communications function of the IT services company, building on his experience in media and journalism.
Before joining TCS, Mallapur was associated with media organisations including IndiaSpend, Times Network and Moneycontrol.com. His experience across these news platforms gives him a background in reporting and financial and business journalism, alongside his subsequent work in corporate communications.
His move to JM Financial brings this combination of media experience and in-house communications exposure to the financial services group. The appointment comes as businesses in the financial sector operate across multiple areas, including capital markets, investment banking, wealth management and private markets, each requiring communication with a diverse set of stakeholders.
